The Celebration Concert

Few activities are more pleasurable than creatively
performing the music I love. Yet, teaching through
this website, sharing thoughts, ideas, experiences and music
with members around the world, has truly been one of the
most interesting, captivating, inspiring
and FUN-filled experiences of my life! I am blessed
beyond measure, and honored to be the 'tour guide
through PianoLand' for these wonderful folks!
What are we celebrating? EVERYTHING...
- my 56th year on planet Earth
- my 41st year as a musician and professional performer
- Piano Magic's 20th Anniversary
- my 45,000th student (sometime later this year)
- being able to PLAY PIANO with ease and happiness
- good people, family, friends and pets
- pie, cake and pickles
- salt, pepper and garlic
- sunshine and rain; night and day; change of seasons
- the next breath
- (please continue with YOUR list of happy stuff)
The Assignment
In February, I asked for volunteers from the PMMO membership...
- to perform (and record) a tune they enjoy from
the Public Domain
- or create an original composition using Piano Magic principles
- or perform a spontaneous 'in the moment' improvisation
applying Piano Magic principles and techniques
Any member (at any level of study) was invited to participate,
and had slightly more than one month to complete the assignment.
All performances are recorded by members on their own keyboards,
and not one has been discussed, edited or refined
in conjunction with the instructor. In other words, these
'birdies are flying SOLO' and showing us exactly
how they currently play for personal enjoyment
and self-expression!
As an extra incentive, every participating member
was told they would receive one additional month added to
their PMMO Membership! Unfortunately for them, I lied...they
each received two months! ;-)
Each performer listed above appears in the order of least
experienced to most experienced at playing PianoMagically
(top to bottom), and each member is identified by their
SCREEN NAME and COUNTRY, exactly as it appears within our
PMMO Forums.
I LOVE to hear my students perform creatively from
the heart...playing 'by ear'...learning to express
themselves through sound, and I'm confident YOU will
enjoy hearing them as much as I do!
